These terms apply to your use of boldhopelocal.org and to the gifts, purchases and registrations you make with Bold Hope Local ("BHL," "we," "us"), a Pennsylvania nonprofit corporation and 501(c)(3) public charity (EIN 42-4252550). By using our website, giving, buying tickets or creating an account, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.
1. Using our website
Please use our website lawfully and respectfully. Do not try to break into it, interfere with how it works, copy it in bulk by automated means, pretend to be someone else, or post anything harmful, false or offensive. We may change, pause or remove any part of the website at any time.
2. Your account
- Keep your account information accurate and your password private. You are responsible for activity under your account.
- If you give or buy tickets without signing in, we may create an account for you automatically, as described in our Privacy Policy.
- We may suspend or close an account that misuses the website.
- You may ask us to close your account at any time. We will still keep the records of your gifts that we are required to keep.
3. Donations
- Tax-deductible gifts. Donations are voluntary gifts to Bold Hope Local and are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. We send a receipt for each gift and a year-end giving statement. Please talk with your tax advisor about your own situation.
- Designated gifts. We honor the purpose you choose, such as The Bridge Fund or a specific need. If a need is already fully met, is cancelled or cannot be completed, or a purpose becomes impractical, we may apply your gift to a similar purpose or where it is needed most. As a 501(c)(3) charity, Bold Hope Local keeps final control over how all gifts are used.
- Covering fees. If you choose to cover processing fees, that amount is part of your gift.
- Refunds. Gifts are generally final. If you made a mistake, such as a wrong amount or a duplicate gift, contact us within 30 days and we will work with you. Refunds are at our discretion, and a refunded gift is removed from your giving statement.
4. Monthly gifts
- A monthly gift is charged to your payment method each month, on or about the same date, until you cancel it.
- You can cancel a monthly gift or update your payment method at any time from your account, or by contacting us before the next charge date.
- Your payment method is stored securely by our payment processor, Stripe, not by us.
- If a payment fails, we may try again and let you know by email.
5. Event tickets and auction items
- Event tickets, such as gala tickets, are payments for attending an event. They are not donations and are not tax-deductible. Any extra gift you add when buying tickets is a separate, tax-deductible donation.
- For items won at an auction, only the amount you pay above the item's fair market value is tax-deductible. Your receipt states that value.
- Ticket refunds are at our discretion. If we cancel an event, we will offer you a refund.
- If you buy a table, you are responsible for sharing the invitation with your guests. Guest information is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
- Event details, such as the program, speakers and menu, may change.
6. The Bridge
The Bridge connects the needs of local families, shared by partner agencies, with churches and donors who meet them. Partner churches and agencies agree to:
- give accurate information about their organization and the needs they submit;
- follow The Bridge's family-privacy rules, and never include family names, street addresses or other identifying details in a need;
- use donated items and funds only for the families and purposes they were given for; and
- follow any program guidelines we provide.
We may approve, edit, decline or remove needs and partner accounts at our discretion. We work hard to meet every need, but we cannot promise that every need will be funded or fulfilled.
7. Content and trademarks
The content of this website, including the names and logos of Bold Hope Local and The Bridge, belongs to us or to those who license it to us. You may view and share it for personal, non-commercial purposes. When you send us content, such as messages, needs or photos, you allow us to use it to run our programs and to share our work, without identifying the families we serve.
8. Other services
Payments are processed by Stripe and are also subject to Stripe's terms. Links to other websites are provided for convenience; we are not responsible for their content or practices.
9. Disclaimer
Our website is provided "as is." We work to keep it accurate and available, but we cannot guarantee that it will always be error-free or uninterrupted.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Bold Hope Local and its staff, volunteers and board are not liable for any indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of this website. For any purchase, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for it.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Any dispute will be handled in the courts of Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will post the new version on this page with a new "last updated" date. If you keep using our website after a change, you accept the updated terms.
